Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Betta Edu.
Following the directives of His Excellency, the Governor, Sen Prof Ben Ayade to ensure border closure and thorough screening at these entry and Exit points into the state, the state ministry of Health is calling for volunteers resident in this border communities who will be giving support to health workers at those places.
The state Commissioner for Health Dr.Betta Edu, listed the border communities and the entry and exit points across the state to include, Boki with Danare 1 & 2 as entry and exit points, Yala with Intregon and Yache as entry and exit points, Bekwarra with Abouchiche and Gakem as entry and exit points, while Obubra have Osopong-Isobor, Echara and Azumkpuma as entry and exit points.
Others are, Biase with Umon Island as entry and exit point, Odukpani with Itu Bridge and Atan Onoyom-Arochukwu entry and exit points, Etung has Mfum-Cameroon entry and exit point, Bakassi, is Ikang entry and exit point, Abi comprise of Abomige-Ekurekwu entry and exit point, Calabar Municipal has Tinapa Junction as entry and exit point, Calabar South entry and exit points are Harbour and Marina/NPA, Akamkpa, has Ekang as entry and exit point, Obudu, Entry and exit points include, Tsar/Vandeikya, Iyong and Utugwang, while Obanliku entry and exit points are Utanga and Inner Down Ranch.
Dr. Edu further disclosed that “Volunteers resident in these places should immediately contact the person or Officer Incharge of the PrimaryHealth Centre (PHC) closest to them or their PHC Director. The might wish to reach us on these line +234 806 063 8377, On or before Friday 27th March 2020.”
